HR Generalist Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry | [Location / Region] | Full-Time | Regional Travel Required

About Us Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry is a growing dental support organization with 70+ practices across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, operating under brands including Commonwealth Dentistry, Shelby Dental, Pleasant Family Dentistry, Airlie Oral Surgery, and Palms Dentistry. Our HR team exists to support the people who take care of our patients, and we do that best when we show up in person, move quickly, and know our offices well.

About the Role As an HR Generalist, you'll be the dedicated HR partner for a region of our dental offices, typically 10 to 20 locations and 150 to 250+ team members. You'll own recruiting and onboarding for your region, guide employee relations matters, and be a visible, trusted presence for Regional Managers, Office Managers, and team members. This is not a behind-the-desk role. You'll spend real time in our offices and in your local community building the talent pipeline our practices depend on.

What You'll Do

Recruiting and Onboarding

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for your region's non-provider roles, including dental assistants, front office, treatment coordinators, and office leadership: intake with managers, posting, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offers, and closing.
  • Manage offers within established wage bands and approval processes, and keep candidates engaged from first contact through their first day.
  • Coordinate onboarding so new hires start ready to work, with paperwork, credentials, and systems access handled on time.
  • Track open requisitions and time to fill, and keep Operations updated on hiring status and staffing risks.

Boots on the Ground and Campus Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with local dental assisting programs, community colleges, technical schools, and high school career programs in your region.
  • Represent us at career fairs, classroom visits, and campus events, and create pipelines for externships and new graduates.
  • Visit your offices regularly to get to know teams, understand staffing needs firsthand, and be a consistent, approachable HR presence.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns in your region.
  • Coach Office Managers and Regional Managers through performance conversations, corrective action, attendance issues, and team conflict.
  • Conduct fact-finding on employee relations concerns, document clearly, and escalate to HR leadership with the facts, a timeline, and the open questions that need answers.
  • Support separations, exit processes, and retention conversations with professionalism and care.

HR Operations and Compliance

  • Partner with Payroll and Benefits on employee changes, leave-related questions, and new hire setup.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in our HRIS and support policy compliance across NC, SC, and VA as applicable.
  • Help roll out HR programs, policies, and communications to your offices.

What Makes Someone Great in This Role

  • Responsiveness. Our offices run on tight schedules. When a manager calls about a call-out, a candidate, or a team issue, they need a timely answer. You return calls and messages the same day and follow through on what you commit to.
  • Multitasking without dropping balls. On any given day you might be screening candidates, handling an employee concern, visiting an office, and working a career fair. You stay organized, prioritize well, and know what's urgent versus what can wait.
  • Relationship building. You're comfortable walking into an office or a classroom and making a connection, and people trust you because you're consistent and fair.
  • Sound judgment. You know when to handle something and when to escalate, and you bring the right information when you do.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of HR generalist, recruiting, or HR business partner experience, ideally in a multi-site environment.
  • Demonstrated full-cycle recruiting experience, with high-volume hourly hiring a strong plus.
  • Working knowledge of employee relations practices and employment law fundamentals.
  • Healthcare, dental, or DSO experience preferred.
  • Comfortable with an ATS, HRIS, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel regularly within your region (mileage reimbursed).
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; SHRM-CP or PHR a plus.

What We Offer

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) [with match, if applicable]
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Employee dental benefits
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • The chance to make a visible impact on a growing organization
