Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Mid-Level Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to support an enterprise database environment for a federal customer.

This position will provide hands-on administration and support across Oracle, SQL, and related database technologies, including database configuration, backup and recovery, patching, performance tuning, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, monitoring, security, automation, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle and SQL databases.
  • Support database provisioning, installations, upgrades, patching, and server maintenance.
  • Manage backup, restore, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and failover processes.
  • Monitor and tune database performance, alerts, and operational dashboards.
  • Implement database security, auditing, configuration, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop SQL/PL-SQL scripts and database administration automation.
  • Troubleshoot database incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams.
  • Support occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance activities.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of database administration experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, and PL/SQL .
  • Demonstrated experience with all of the following: SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, SQL Scripting, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Microsoft Access.
  • Experience creating and managing standalone Oracle and SQL databases.
  • Experience identifying and troubleshooting database issues.
  • Experience with server maintenance, software installation, upgrades, and patching.
  • Experience with High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and restore processes.
  • Experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, security, automation, and incident management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across technical teams.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Must reside in and perform all work from within the United States.
  • Must be willing to complete federal background/suitability screening and fingerprinting if required.
  • Must be available for 8 working hours per day within 7:30 AM–6:00 PM ET .
  • Must be able to support occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance.
  • U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Oracle certification , such as OCP, OCA, or equivalent.
  • Current or prior federal background investigation or Public Trust.
  • Federal government or federal contracting experience.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Idera, SolarWinds, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Datadog, and/or Dynatrace .
  • Experience with cloud database environments, including OCI .

Benefits

Compensation

$100,000–$140,000 per year as a W2 , negotiable for the right candidate.

$55/hr.–$75/hr. as a 1099
