About the role AI is reshaping aviation; and zeroG is at the core of it. We are the AI experts of Lufthansa Group, building human-centric data and AI solutions that solve problems affecting millions of passengers and some of the most complex operations in the world.

We are looking for a Junior AI Engineering Consultant to help shape the future of aviation with AI. You’ll help design and build GenAI and ML solutions for our clients and take them from first prototypes into production. In this consulting role, you’ll also work directly with clients to understand their challenges and translate them into technical solutions. Working alongside experienced engineers and consultants, you’ll develop both your technical expertise and your client-facing skills.

What you will be doing

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions — ML, GenAI, LLMs, RAG, and AI agents — from prototypes to cloud-based production (e.g. Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Contribute to turning complex aviation data into innovative, data-driven products.
  • Help ensure quality, reliability, security, and cost efficiency of the solutions you work on.
  • Engage with stakeholders and customers, learning to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Continuously learn, apply new technologies, and grow into a trusted advisor role

What skills should you have?

  • Solid Python and software engineering fundamentals.
  • First hands-on experience building ML and/or GenAI solutions (e.g. LLMs, RAG, or AI agents), whether from your studies, an internships, or personal projects.
  • Working knowledge of data (SQL, data pipelines) and exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or AWS).
  • Basic understanding of how AI solutions are deployed and operated in production (e.g. MLOps/LLMOps, evaluation, monitoring).
  • Awareness of AI security and compliance basics (e.g. GDPR, EU AI Act).
  • Good communication skills, able to explain technical topics clearly (working language is English).
  • Eagerness to learn, a collaborative attitude, and interest in growing into a technical consulting role.

The following skills and experience would also be an asset: Bonus points for:

  • Exposure to managed AI platforms (e.g. Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI) or observability tooling.
  • Interest in agentic architectures and integrating AI into enterprise systems.
  • Interest or background in the aviation industry.

A few notes

  • We don't expect you to tick every box. If this speaks to you, let's talk.
  • We care more about how you think, lead, and build than about what your jobtitle was before.
  • This is a role with real scope - and genuine room to shape it as zeroG grows.
