We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Department Manager to lead sales, operations, customer experience, inventory management, and team performance within a jewellery retail environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in jewellery or organised retail , with the ability to drive departmental sales while maintaining high standards of customer service, operational discipline, inventory accuracy, and security. This role requires a hands-on leader who can motivate sales teams, analyse performance, and contribute to overall store growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive departmental sales performance and achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.
- Monitor key sales KPIs including conversion rate, Average Bill Value (ABV), and Units Per Transaction (UPT) .
- Drive sales across gold, diamond, platinum, and other jewellery categories.
- Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, repeat purchases, and customer retention.
- Monitor individual sales performance and implement coaching or improvement plans where required.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise sales executives and other department team members.
- Conduct daily team briefings and allocate individual sales targets.
- Train team members on jewellery product knowledge, customer handling, selling techniques, and service standards.
- Manage staff schedules, attendance, floor deployment, and daily manpower requirements.
- Support the Store Manager in maintaining productivity, discipline, and overall store performance.
- Ensure customers receive a premium and personalised shopping experience.
- Handle customer complaints, escalations, enquiries, and service-related issues professionally.
- Build relationships with high-value, repeat, and prospective customers.
- Ensure timely follow-up on customer enquiries, orders, occasions, and potential purchases.
- Monitor stock availability, merchandise movement, display standards, and product presentation.
- Coordinate stock replenishment and inter-store transfers as required.
- Ensure accurate inventory records and support regular stock audits.
- Maintain proper handling, documentation, and security of high-value jewellery.
- Identify fast-moving and slow-moving products and communicate relevant insights to management.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, retail processes, jewellery security, loss-prevention, and operational guidelines.
- Monitor billing accuracy, documentation, daily reporting, and store opening and closing procedures.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly sales and performance reports.
- Analyse product-category performance, conversion, team productivity, and target achievement.
- Share performance insights and recommendations with the Store Manager.
- Identify opportunities to improve departmental processes, customer experience, sales productivity, and operational efficiency.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 5+ years of experience in retail sales, store operations, or a similar customer-facing environment.
- Strong experience in jewellery retail or organised retail is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience as a Department Manager, Floor Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Team Leader, or similar retail leadership role will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of jewellery products including gold, diamonds, platinum, and other precious jewellery categories .
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets and improve departmental performance.
- Strong understanding of retail KPIs including conversion rate, ABV, UPT, customer satisfaction, and team productivity.
- Experience managing, motivating, coaching, and developing frontline sales teams.
- Strong customer relationship-management skills, particularly with high-value and repeat customers.
- Good understanding of inventory management, stock reconciliation, merchandise movement, and loss prevention.
- Strong awareness of jewellery security, operational controls, and SOP compliance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and customer-handling skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-oriented approach.
- High attention to detail, organisation, discipline, and process orientation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational execution.
- Proficiency with POS, inventory management, and retail reporting systems .
- Comfortable working in a target-driven and fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently manage a department while supporting overall store objectives.
- Graduate degree or equivalent qualification is preferred.
