We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Investment Officer to manage investment strategy, portfolio management, and wealth-related activities for a family office.
The role will work closely with key family members and will involve evaluating investment opportunities, developing research-backed investment strategies, optimising asset allocation, and monitoring portfolio performance. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge across equities, debt, alternative investments, taxation, and financial markets , along with the ability to make well-informed investment decisions focused on long-term capital growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead investment strategy development and portfolio management activities for the family office.
- Develop and execute research-backed investment plans aligned with long-term capital growth objectives.
- Evaluate and optimise asset allocation across equities, debt, and alternative investments.
- Conduct detailed research on financial markets, companies, securities, funds, and investment opportunities.
- Monitor economic trends, market movements, interest rates, macroeconomic developments, and emerging investment themes.
- Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities across relevant asset classes.
- Analyse portfolio performance, risk exposure, returns, liquidity, and diversification.
- Review and recommend suitable equity and equity-related products, debt instruments, and alternative investments .
- Evaluate investment opportunities through financial analysis, commercial assessment, and structured due diligence.
- Oversee investment performance tracking and prepare periodic portfolio and investment reports.
- Monitor portfolio allocation and recommend rebalancing strategies where required.
- Develop a strong understanding of taxation implications across different asset classes and investment structures.
- Ensure investment and commercial transactions consider applicable tax, statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements .
- Manage relationships with financial advisors, wealth managers, banks, brokers, fund managers, and other financial institutions.
- Coordinate with external advisors and professionals to evaluate investment structures, transactions, and risks.
- Review financial reports, investment statements, transaction documentation, and supporting records.
- Maintain accurate records of investments, transactions, portfolio performance, and investment decisions.
- Present investment recommendations, market insights, portfolio updates, and performance analysis to key family members.
- Support strategic financial planning and long-term wealth creation initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, governance, documentation, and fiduciary responsibility.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT
- 3+ years of relevant experience in investment management, portfolio management, wealth management, family office, private banking, investment advisory, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of investment strategy, portfolio management, and asset allocation .
- Hands-on knowledge of equities, equity-related products, debt instruments, and alternative investments .
- Strong financial and investment research capabilities with the ability to evaluate companies, markets, products, and investment opportunities.
- Good understanding of macroeconomic indicators, financial markets, market cycles, and investment risks.
- Strong knowledge of taxation across different asset classes and investment structures .
- Experience conducting investment due diligence and evaluating financial and commercial risks.
- Strong understanding of portfolio performance measurement, risk management, diversification, and rebalancing.
- Experience working with financial advisors, wealth managers, banks, brokers, fund managers, and financial institutions .
- Strong financial analysis and quantitative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to independently evaluate investment opportunities and present clear, well-supported recommendations.
- Strong commercial judgement and understanding of the implications of tax, statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements on transactions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, particularly when working with senior family members and external advisors.
- High level of integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and professional judgement.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage multiple investments, transactions, and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-trust environment where investment decisions require careful analysis and sound judgement.
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred; relevant professional qualifications will be an advantage.
