Our client is a premier design brand and distributor of high-end furniture, lighting, and interior products across commercial, hospitality, and residential sectors. Operating through multiple showrooms alongside an integrated e-commerce platform, they deliver curated designer collections across Australia. They are dedicated to high-quality craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless design.

They are now seeking to hire a Shipping Coordinator to oversee international inbound freight operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring on-time cargo delivery, maintaining cost efficiency, and facilitating smooth coordination between suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams.

Job Responsibilities

Shipment & Freight Coordination

  • Book international inbound sea and air freight shipments while selecting cost-effective routing options
  • Monitor cargo-ready, departure, arrival, and customs clearance milestones
  • Track delays or discrepancies and proactively implement resolution measures
  • Communicate shipping schedules, updates, and routine delays to relevant internal teams

Supplier & Broker Liaison

  • Manage day-to-day operational relationships with suppliers and freight forwarders
  • Follow up with suppliers and forwarders to ensure agreed shipping dates are achieved
  • Liaise with freight forwarders and customs brokers regarding container availability, clearance, and delivery

Documentation & System Management

  • Prepare and verify shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, and certificates
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and update relevant ERP systems
  • Monitor freight costs, identify consolidation opportunities, and prepare regular operational reports

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in international shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating sea and air freight, including LCL and FCL shipments
  • Sound understanding of shipping documentation, Incoterms, and customs clearance processes
  • Awareness of freight cost drivers with a strong focus on cost-effective decision-making and space utilisation

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience coordinating freight within the furniture or interior design sectors
  • Hands-on experience using ERP systems, with Options ERP highly regarded
