What's Exciting About The Role
To ensure the long-term stability and growth of strategically important international customer relationships, we are hiring a Senior Key Account Manager . Reporting to and working closely with the current Global Account Manager, you will support the operational and strategic management of key accounts, ensuring continuity of customer relationships while developing the expertise required to assume full account responsibility over time.
This role sits within our DACH sales organization led by our Head of DACH, which is responsible for our SMB, Enterprise, Partner, and eCommerce/ mCommerce segments across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full backup coverage and involvement in the Key Account Manager's day-to-day business
- Building in-depth accounts knowledge (contractual status, contacts, commercial history, open topics) to ensure a seamless handover
- Maintaining the customer relationships with key contacts at the international companies on an operational and tactical level
- Coordinating internal interfaces (Product, Compliance, legal, Onboarding, Helpdesk, IT) to ensure smooth service delivery
- Contributing to forecasting, pipeline maintenance in Salesforce, and account reporting
- Preparing for and participating in business reviews and escalation calls
- Supporting contract negotiations and commercial proposals in coordination with the Global Account Manager
Skills and Experience We Desire
- Fluency in both German and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages
- Extensive experience within the payments industry, with strong expertise in payment gateways, acquiring services, and payment terminal solutions.
- Proven track record in Key Account Management or Relationship Management, ideally within the payments, financial services, or retail sectors.
- Experience managing complex international customer organizations, including global and multi-market enterprise accounts.
- Proficiency in Salesforce and/or comparable CRM platforms, with a disciplined approach to account and pipeline management.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior decision-makers.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, with a structured working style, strong attention to detail, and the reliability to ensure seamless customer support and business continuity when acting as a backup.
Key Success Criteria
- Develop a strong understanding of the assigned key accounts and actively manage them in close partnership with the Global Account Manager.
- Achieve full backup capability for the assigned accounts by the end of the onboarding period, ensuring seamless customer support and continuity.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant internal stakeholders across Verifone supporting the customer portfolio.
- Build trusted relationships with key customer stakeholders across commercial, operational, and executive levels.
- Consistently deliver a high standard of customer service, reflected in positive feedback from customer contacts and stakeholders.
- Contribute actively to revenue growth opportunities through accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and account planning.
- Demonstrate increasing ownership of account activities and readiness to assume broader account responsibilities over time.
