Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide specialized in-person occupational therapy services to 2nd and 3rd-grade students in Oakland, CA .
In this role, you will work directly with young learners to support fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual-motor skills, and daily functional activities that enable academic success. We are looking for a compassionate clinician who takes pride in creating a dynamic, supportive environment where elementary students feel empowered to build confidence and independence.
Position Details
- Student Population: 2nd & 3rd Grade
- Duration: Long-term assignment (3–6 months)
- Weekly Hours: 3 hours per week total (1.5-hour sessions, twice weekly)
- Format: 100% In-Person at a designated site in Oakland, CA
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, targeted 1:1 in-person occupational therapy services tailored for 2nd and 3rd-grade students.
- Assist students with fine motor development, handwriting, sensory processing strategies, and self-regulation skills.
- Develop and implement individualized OT goals to support classroom participation and learning.
- Engage students using creative, developmentally appropriate activities for elementary-aged learners.
- Monitor, track, and document student progress over the course of the assignment.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, guardians, and team members regarding student milestones and needs.
Qualifications
- Active California State License or verified eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in California (Required) .
- Candidates who are actively in process with the California licensing board with strong credentials are welcome to apply.
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents in a school or pediatric clinical setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to the designated site in Oakland, CA (open to candidates in nearby East Bay areas such as Berkeley, Alameda, Emeryville, and San Leandro).

Job requirements:
- Ability to commute to/from Oakland, CA REQUIRED
- Must have an Occupational Therapy License
- Previous experience provided Occupational Therapy is highly preferred
