Manager, Strategic Finance
Manager, Strategic Finance
Triumvirate Environmental (TEI) is a Berkshire Partners-backed environmental services company executing a structured FP A buildout program centered on proactive analytics, PE-grade reporting, and data infrastructure. The Manager, Strategic Finance is a critical hire within that program, taking ownership of the analysis that drives acquisition performance, pricing and margin, capital allocation, and the sponsor’s view of value creation.
Reporting directly to the VP of FP A, this role is designed for a high-caliber, project-oriented finance professional who delivers at a high level on complex work. You will take responsibility for the strategic finance workstreams, working from priorities the VP sets while the VP retains accountability; interface regularly with the CFO, the CTrO’s M A team, the CRO, and operating leaders; and provide day-to-day direction and review for one analyst.
As Triumvirate Environmental scales, organically and through acquisition, so does the scope of this role. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building models from scratch, working deep in large data sets, and presenting findings to a PE sponsor audience. Strategic work is project-based, and the role pairs it with ongoing finance reporting and dashboards.
Triumvirate Environmental provides leading organizations in the higher education, life sciences, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing sectors with diverse services and expertise to assist them with compliance management. At Triumvirate Environmental, we strive to WOW both our employees and our customers. Our unique culture fosters growth, development, education, and creativity.
This position reports to the VP of Financial Planning Analysis. This position will be fully onsite for the first 90 days. After 90 days, the position will follow a hybrid schedule approved by the manager and Human Resources .
IMMEDIATE PRIORITIES: FIRST 90 DAYS
This role steps into a live operating environment. The following are not aspirational objectives; they are the work that needs to be owned from day one.
- Deliver a validated pricing opportunity assessment and a first read of price-volume-mix for the core business, with identified actions and owners
- Agree the process with the M A team for taking over deal-model tracking at close, and have a synergy and integration tracking approach ready for new acquisitions
- Establish the strategic workstream priorities with the VP and confirm responsibilities and decision rights
- Take ownership of finance-specific reporting and dashboards in Power BI, validated against the source of truth
- Identify and address data inconsistencies across Oracle Fusion and Excel models that affect deal, pricing, and investment analysis; deliver accurate output while working through constraints, not after them
Responsibilities:
M A Integration Synergy Tracking
- Take over performance-versus-deal-model tracking at close from the M A team, including synergy realization and integration variance reporting to the CFO and sponsor
- Build pro forma and integration reporting that folds acquired-company results into platform reporting, including entities operating on separate systems
- Support acquisition diligence and integration planning from the finance side as deal pace requires
Pricing, Price-Volume-Mix Commercial Analytics
- Build and maintain price-volume-mix and pricing-realization analytics; quantify rate leakage and margin opportunity across customers, service lines, and regions
- Track approved pricing actions to realized margin against a documented baseline
- Partner with the CRO and commercial leadership on customer profitability and revenue-quality analysis, including cross-sell and wallet-share opportunities
Capital Allocation, Expansion Long-Range Planning
- Build investment cases for new markets, capacity, and capital projects, and track results against the case after approval
- Support the long-range plan and five-year sub-targets by region, vertical, and growth lever (organic, price, volume, M A, new markets)
- Maintain the sponsor value-creation view and supporting analysis so it stays current
- Deliver scenario and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decisions on pricing, capacity, M A, and capital allocation
Finance Reporting, Data Dashboards
- Own custom, finance-specific reporting and dashboards, meaning those whose primary audience is the CFO, VP FP A, or sponsor reporting
- Work directly with large, complex financial and operational data sets (SQL, Python, Power BI) to extract, validate, and analyze data for deal, pricing, and investment work
- Build repeatable reporting processes that reduce reliance on manual Excel workbooks over time, validating outputs against the source of truth
- Partner with the IT data organization, which owns data architecture and enterprise dashboards, on definitions, data quality, and requirements
Business Partnership Leadership
- Serve as finance partner to the CTrO’s M A team and to operating and commercial leaders on the strategic workstreams above
- Work within a clear division of responsibility: responsible for execution of the strategic workstreams, with budget approval, headcount, company-wide forecast assumptions, and final priorities held by the VP
- Provide day-to-day direction and review for one analyst, assigning work against the VP’s priorities
Translate analysis into clear recommendations for non-financial stakeholders across operations, sales, M A, and executive leadership
Basic Requirements:
- 4+ years of progressive experience in FP A, strategic finance, corporate development, or investment banking, ideally in a multi-unit or acquisitive operating environment
- A track record of owning complex, project-based analyses from scoping through delivery to senior stakeholders, with minimal rework
- Experience building pro forma, integration, or transaction models for acquisitions, and tracking results after close
- Demonstrated ownership of sponsor, board, or senior-executive reporting, including variance and scenario analysis
- Expert-level financial modeling in Excel, including deal and investment-case models, driver-based forecasts, EBITDA bridges, and scenario analysis
- Strong data fluency: hands-on SQL or Python and Power BI (or a comparable BI tool) to extract, validate, analyze, and present large, complex data sets, plus applied AI tools to accelerate analysis and automate recurring work; this is a data-fluent analyst role, not a data engineering or architecture role
- Experience working with ERP-sourced financial data and reconciling it to reporting and analysis
- Proven ability to operate in environments with data limitations or system constraints, delivering output while resolving underlying issues in parallel
- Strong ability to translate analysis into clear recommendations for non-financial stakeholders at the GM, C-suite, and board level
- Strong judgment on prioritization and deadline discipline within priorities set by leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in a private equity or growth equity-backed company, including board or lender reporting (Berkshire portfolio experience a plus, not required)
- Environmental, field services, or asset-light services industry background
- Pricing, customer profitability, or capital allocation analysis experience
- Experience with Oracle Fusion and an FP A planning platform (Vena preferred; Adaptive, OneStream, or similar)
- Power BI data modeling experience, including DAX
- MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced credential
