Software Engineers: Feedback on AI Coding Tools

WHAT WE'RE RESEARCHING

We're running a paid study on the evolving landscape of AI-assisted software engineering. The goal is to understand how modern code generation tools fit into everyday development workflows. Your insights will help us map the current state of developer productivity and tool adoption.

HOW IT WORKS

You will join a remote video call to walk us through your typical programming environment. We will ask you to share examples of how you integrate code assistants into your daily tasks. You will also discuss the strengths and limitations of the specific models you rely on. The conversation will focus heavily on practical use cases, debugging habits, and prompt strategies.

WHO THIS IS FOR

We are looking for software engineers, developers, and technical leads who actively write code. You must have hands-on experience using modern AI assistants, such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor. We welcome backend, frontend, full-stack, and mobile developers across all tech stacks.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Walk us through your typical software development workflow
• Describe how you use AI coding assistants to write or debug code
• Compare different models or tools you have tried recently
• Discuss the challenges or limitations you encounter when relying on generated code

WHO SHOULD APPLY

• Active software engineer or developer
• Hands-on experience with tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code
• Comfortable discussing technical workflows and debugging strategies
