EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a plastic manufacturing environment
OVERVIEW/FUNCTION
Must be able to perform all levels of complexity of plastic fabrication production work, repairs, modifications, mechanical assembly, and actively participates in newer employee training. Employee has enough experience to be able to perform cross functional activities as they relate to plastic fabrication operations; mechanical assembly, socket fusion, plumbing, quality control, test, and process documentation. Employee may be asked to perform certain in field upgrades or repairs for the Customer Service Manager.
SKILL LEVEL / KEY STRENGTHS
Employee must be able to work without direct supervision, work with many different materials, tools, equipment, and be experienced in demonstrating proper plastic fabrication methodologies. This position requires good problem solving skills, attention to detail, and an ability to balance customer expectations with company policies and procedures. The individual must be flexible, adaptable and possess a high sense of integrity. They must respect and enforce the confidential aspects of their work. They will work effectively with cross functional teams and have excellent communication and organizational skills.
Representative Activities:
- PVC pipe gluing and cutting
- Complete projects in a timely manner
- Plastic and metal welding
- Creative problem solving
- Machine maintenance and cleaning. Changing blades and set up.
- Support CNC operations
- Assist in material handling
- Assist in material preparation for fabrication.
- Housekeeping
Typical Decisions Made:
- Understanding of basic shop equipment such as table saws, drill presses, mills and lathes.
- Optimize material layout for material savings.
- Work unassisted in the completion of various fabrication projects
- Understanding of fabrication processes in order to utilize the most efficient means to complete a project.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of Lathes, Milling Machines, Brakes, Presses, and woodshop equipment.
- Plastic Fabrication and plumbing experience knowledge.
- High School Diploma and College Degree or Trade School Certificate.
- Carpentry skills
