As our Financial Controlle r at Strohm, you play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely and high-quality financial reporting across our international organization. You combine strong accounting and IFRS knowledge with a hands-on approach to financial control, audit and continuous improvemen t.

This is a broad controlling role within an international, project-driven manufacturing environment. You'll work closely with the Finance Director, CFO, FP&A, Project Control and other stakeholders across the business. As our Finance Controller you also provide day-to-day guidance and quality review to colleagues within AP/AR and Assistant Financial Control (2.8 FTE).

The role is particularly suited to a finance professional with approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience, for example within external audit or assurance, who is ready to take broader ownership within an international business environment. In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and support monthly, quarterly and annual closing and reporting, including IFRS-compliant financial statements, reporting schedules and accounting position papers.
  • Own balance sheet control by performing reconciliations, reviewing accounting entries, accruals, provisions and period-end estimates, and ensuring timely follow-up of open items.
  • Act as a key contact for external auditors, coordinating audit requests and documentation, and support tax compliance together with internal and external specialists.
  • Support consolidation, intercompany accounting and reporting for international entities while ensuring consistent and accurate financial information.
  • Strengthen the financial control environment by maintaining and improving internal controls, finance processes, ERP/reporting solutions and automation.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and quality review for AP/AR and Assistant Financial Control activities, while supporting the Finance Director and wider Finance team with financial analyses and ad-hoc reporting.

What you bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Economics or a related field, combined with approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably within external audit/assurance;
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS, financial closing, statutory reporting, audit and balance sheet control. A Dutch RA qualification, completed or in progress, is a strong advantage;
  • The ability to analyse complex accounting matters, apply sound financial judgement and translate them into practical accounting treatment and clear documentation;
  • Strong Excel skills and affinity with financial systems; experience with ERP, consolidation and/or reporting systems is preferred;
  • A proactive, accurate and hands-on approach. You take ownership, work effectively under reporting deadlines and look for opportunities to improve processes and controls;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and guide junior colleagues;
  • Professional proficiency in English is required; Dutch is an advantage.
