From our office in Ghent , we're looking for a Performance Test Architect to help drive our performance engineering vision. In this role, you'll take ownership of the performance strategy across our platform, ensuring our applications remain scalable, resilient, and efficient as they grow. Working across the full technology stack, you'll identify performance risks before they impact customers, lead complex performance investigations, and provide architectural guidance to optimize database, API, and user interface performance.

As a key member of our engineering organization, you'll collaborate closely with development, product, cloud operations, and customer-facing teams to establish performance best practices, shape technical decisions, and build a culture where performance is an integral part of software delivery. What you'll do...

As a Performance Test Architect , you are the subject matter expert responsible for defining, driving, and governing the performance engineering strategy for our automotive software platform. You ensure the performance, scalability, stability, and reliability of our solutions through a combination of proactive performance engineering, architectural guidance, and reactive troubleshooting.

Working across the full technology stack, you assess and optimize performance at the database, API, application, and user interface levels . You collaborate closely with development, product, infrastructure, and customer-facing teams to design scalable solutions, identify performance risks early, and resolve complex performance challenges.

Your main responsibilities :

  • Define and evolve the organization's performance testing and performance engineering strategy.
  • Design and execute proactive performance assessments across database, API, application, and UI layers to identify risks and bottlenecks before they impact users.
  • Lead root cause analysis of complex performance issues and provide architectural recommendations to improve system efficiency.
  • Design, oversee, and execute load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing to validate platform resilience.
  • Establish performance standards, benchmarks, and non-functional requirements for products and releases.
  • Guide development teams on performance best practices, code optimization, observability, and scalable architecture design.
  • Collaborate with product, development, cloud operations, and customer support teams to ensure performance considerations are embedded throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Support customers and internal stakeholders in diagnosing and resolving business-critical performance challenges.
  • Manage and continuously improve performance testing environments, tooling, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Analyze, optimize, and govern batch processing workloads to maximize stability, throughput, and resource utilization.
  • Mentor colleagues and promote a culture of performance engineering excellence across the organization.

What you'll bring...

Must have :

  • Hands-on experience with DB, API, and UI performance testing optimization .
  • Strong analytical skills for identifying bottlenecks .
  • Accuracy and diligence in fine-tuning complex systems.
  • Collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong communication for translating performance insights.
  • Eagerness for continuous learning.
  • Experience in tools like JMeter, K6, Dynatrace, … is essential.
  • ISTQB CTFL 4.0 certification mandatory, ISTQB CT-PT certification recommended
