SEB Kort is looking for a Legal Counsel to join the Legal team in Copenhagen. SEB Kort Bank AB is a fully owned subsidiary of SEB that offers credit cards and other payment solutions and services to both businesses and consumers. SEB Kort’s legal organization consists of 30 lawyers of which one is already based in Copenhagen. The SEB Kort Legal organization is divided into three teams: Customer Arrangements, Third Party Contracts, and Regulatory & Governance. SEB Kort’s lawyers work in close co-operation with the business providing legal advice to the business in Sweden and our branches throughout Europe, but also to our wholly owned subsidiaries in Italy, UK. Switzerland and the US. About the role SEB Kort is looking for a candidate who is business- and solution-oriented with a clear focus on supporting and guiding the business and our management to make good decisions. As Legal Counsel in Copenhagen, you will be part of the “Customer Arrangements” team and be the primary responsible for all legal aspects related to the Danish market. In the Customer Arrangements team, you will be involved in a broad range of legal matters across multiple jurisdictions, including corporate and commercial law, payment services regulation, consumer protection, marketing regulation, and consumer credit. You will also work on cardholder claims cases before “Det finansielle ankenævn”.
To be a successful Legal Counsel candidate you should
have completed a Master of Law degree from a Danish university have at least 5 years’ experience e.g. from a law firm, bank, or similar or as an in-house lawyer. Experience with payment service regulation and contract negotiations will be seen as an asset have experience of drafting and amending contracts in general but with focus on customer contracts and other customer focused documentation have excellent spoken and written skills in Danish and English, as well as the ability to communicate with a high degree of authority to internal and external audience. Other language skills are seen as an asset have a positive and proactive attitude and a willingness to build relations within the organization and across multiple geographies value working in a fast-paced environment and working closely with the business in finding pragmatic and business-oriented solutions be a self-starter with the ability to effectively manage own time and meet deadlines be a quick learner with the ability to rapidly adapt to and understand new business areas and legal issues and to provide sound legal advice independently; and be thorough and have a structured way of working.
