Qualified Electrician / Maintenance All Rounder
- Busy Meat (Wild Game) Processing Site
- Must have QLD Accredited Electrician Qualifications
- 4.30am Starts Mon-Fri / Get your afternoons and weekends back!
Are you a qualified Electrician who enjoys getting stuck in and fixing things properly?
We’re looking for a hands-on Qualified Electrician / Maintenance All-Rounder to join the Maintenance team at Game Meat Processing (Aussie Game Meats) in Wulkuraka.
This is a practical, varied role for someone who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and being the person people call when something needs fixing. As a qualified electrician you may be at the beginning of your career and are keen to learn from a team that will invest in you - or you may be someone who has a tonne of experience and is looking for a good work-life balance where you can have your afternoons and weekends to yourself!
Our Wulkuraka site is a state-of-the-art, multimillion-dollar game meat processing facility. No two days are the same — you could be troubleshooting electrical equipment one minute, completing preventative maintenance the next, or lending a hand with general site maintenance.
What you’ll be doing
- Keep the factory running – carry out electrical fault-finding, breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance on production equipment, infrastructure and electrical systems.
- Get hands-on with whatever needs doing – take on a variety of general maintenance tasks beyond your electrical trade when required. This may mean getting on the ground to inspect machine that has rattly bearings, unblocking a drain, or maintaining our coolers, converters and refrigeration units.
- Solve problems and improve equipment – investigate faults, identify root causes and help prevent repeat breakdowns.
- Plan ahead – complete scheduled maintenance, scope parts and materials, and use our CMMS to record work and manage maintenance activity.
- Work safely and as part of the team – partner with Operations, Quality, Safety and Engineering while following strict safety, food safety and engineering standards.
What will make you successful
You’ll be a qualified and licensed Electrician who enjoys practical, hands-on work and doesn’t mind getting outside the traditional boundaries of your trade. You’ll ideally bring experience from food manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced industrial environment where you have worked with Boilers, Coolers, Refrigeration, Condensers etc.
You’ll also have:
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- A practical, can-do attitude and willingness to turn your hand to general maintenance
- Experience working around production equipment and responding calmly to breakdowns
- Good communication skills and sound judgement around safety and escalation
- Basic computer skills and the ability to use a CMMS
- Experience with spare parts or maintenance inventory is a bonus
A few things to know
This is a raw meat processing environment , so you’ll need to be comfortable working around production equipment during operation, including when raw meat is being de-boned and processed.
What’s next? If you're ready to unleash your potential then we want to hear from you! You will be required to:
- Attend 1-2 site interviews
- Submit evidence of your Trade Qualifications
- Agree to completing a Pre-Employment Medical
- Agree to allowing us to contact up to two references.
