Technical Excellence

  • Develop and maintain internal drafting standards to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Oversee the development and management of company policies and procedures related to drafting standards and technical content.
  • Promote adherence to internal drafting standards to maintain consistency across all projects.
  • Exercise technical authority and control over drafting work, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Monitor business applications and systems, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Check drafting work to ensure quality, timeliness, safety, efficiency, and constructability.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Drafting personnel on multiple projects, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Support the drafting of drawings for multiple projects.
  • Examine documents and drawings to verify completeness and accuracy of data prior to issuing to client.

Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop drafting personnel, fostering a high-performing, supportive, and engaged team culture.
  • Run bi-monthly 1-on-1s with team members to provide guidance, support development plans, and track progress.
  • Prepare and facilitate the fortnightly drafting team meeting to align on goals, share knowledge, and strengthen team collaboration.
  • Encourage ongoing professional development and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Identify and support growth pathways for team members, providing opportunities for capability building and leadership development.
  • Collaborate with other departments and leaders to ensure seamless project delivery and cross-disciplinary alignment.
  • Lead by example through strong technical performance, problem-solving, and values-driven leadership.
  • Collaborate with team managers to support resourcing

Your Profile

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • 10+ years of experience in structural drafting, including leadership and strategic oversight.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit
  • Diploma or Certificate in Engineering, drafting or equivalent experience.
