WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We’re opening a Senior QA role to expand the impact and coverage of QA across both mobile and web. This is a high-ownership position where the goal is not only to test, but to build systems and processes that elevate the quality culture at Perchwell. As an AI-first team, we are constantly looking for ways to integrate AI and MCPs into our workflows, tooling, and day-to-day execution, and this role will play an active part in driving that forward.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

QA at Perchwell is a small, high-impact team, and we need someone who isn’t just looking to “run tests” — we need someone who wants to build frameworks, strengthen quality processes, and help us scale testing across mobile and web as our platform grows.

This is a role for someone who cares about both precision and proactivity, who knows how to test deeply but also knows how to build systems that help others ship safely.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:

• Flagship project: own the ongoing development and maintenance of our mobile automation framework, prioritizing iOS first while expanding Android coverage—shaping the tooling and structure, adding high-value automated tests, and improving CI integration and reporting as coverage grows.
• Identify the core, high-risk mobile flows and get them covered with stable automated tests.
• Spend ~50-60% of your time on web testing and 40-50% on mobile, prioritizing iOS while expanding Android coverage and supporting core platform areas as needed.
• Contribute across both manual and automated testing depending on priority and release needs.
• Work with our Playwright automation setup, expanding its coverage, stability, and reporting.
• Partner with SRE and Engineering to help manage releases, CI/CD pipelines, and quality gates, supporting both major and minor releases with clear visibility into quality.
• Play an active role in integrating AI tools, MCPs, and workflow automations into the QA stack.
• Continuously identify and improve areas where AI can reduce manual effort and increase testing speed or accuracy.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and SRE to elevate quality practices across the company.
• Contribute to building leverage, not just individual output — systems, documentation, tooling, processes, and automation that help the whole engineering org move faster with confidence.

REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE

• 5+ years of QA experience, including at least 2 years focused on mobile automation
• Hands-on experience with Typescript and Playwright
• Experience contributing to or scaling mobile automation across iOS and Android, e.g. XCUITest, AndroidX Test/Espresso, Appium, or WebdriverIO
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling, e.g. GitHub Actions
• Prior experience mentoring or leading QA processes, if applicable to seniority level

This role is open to remote, but those located in the NYC area will work out of our New York City HQ in Soho Manhattan at least 3 days/week (including Mondays, which are mandatory in-office days).

SALARY RANGE:

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base salary ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. Our ranges are based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including skills, job-related knowledge and depth of work experience.

The compensation for this position is $130-$160K base salary + equity + benefits for NYC candidates. Range may vary by candidate location.
