Employee Benefits Account Executive

Why This Role Matters

As an Employee Benefits Account Executive, you'll serve as a trusted partner to clients by helping them navigate benefit plan decisions, renewals, policy changes, claims concerns, and ongoing service needs. Your ability to understand each client's organization and recommend thoughtful, practical solutions will play an important role in strengthening relationships and supporting long-term retention.

In this role, you'll manage key aspects of the client lifecycle while working closely with Producers, internal teams, and carrier partners. You'll guide clients through complex benefit questions, support renewal strategy, maintain accurate policy information, and help ensure each client receives responsive, knowledgeable, and consistent service.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned employee benefits clients, building strong relationships and developing a clear understanding of their organizational goals and coverage needs.
  • Partner with Producers to assess client needs and recommend employee benefits products, coverages, and strategies aligned with each client's objectives.
  • Manage the full renewal process for assigned accounts, including carrier marketing, updating renewal information in the Agency Management System, and securing timely and accurate renewals.
  • Support client retention by maintaining proactive communication, identifying emerging needs, and helping clients evaluate appropriate coverage strategies.
  • Keep clients informed of policy changes, market developments, regulatory updates, and other relevant industry trends.
  • Conduct regular account reviews to evaluate coverage adequacy and identify opportunities to strengthen benefit programs.
  • Oversee policy administration by processing changes, assisting with claims concerns, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the policy lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Producers and internal team members to resolve complex account issues and support effective client management.
  • Assist colleagues with materials, document review, and other account support activities to help deliver consistent, high-quality client service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, strengthen operational efficiency, and enhance the overall client experience.
  • Ensure protected health information and other sensitive client information are handled in accordance with HIPAA requirements and company standards.
  • Maintain current knowledge of employee benefits regulations, market trends, and industry best practices, and share relevant insights with clients and colleagues.

What You Bring

Day One:

  • Active Life and Health Insurance license.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a sales, account management, or customer service position.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employee benefits programs, including benefit plan types, applicable regulations, industry practices, and emerging trends.
  • Experience building and maintaining strong client relationships and identifying solutions based on each client's unique needs.
  • Experience managing employee benefits accounts, renewals, policy changes, and ongoing client service activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines accurately.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex scenarios and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Producers, carriers, clients, and internal team members.
  • Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management systems, Agency Management Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other client management tools.
  • Ability to identify process improvements and support more efficient workflows.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive employee and client information appropriately.
  • Commitment to staying current on employee benefits regulations, market developments, and industry best practices.

Valuable Additions:

  • Experience managing the full employee benefits renewal lifecycle, including carrier marketing and renewal negotiations.
  • Experience supporting employee benefits claims questions or escalations.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA requirements and the handling of protected health information.
  • Experience advising clients on changing benefit needs, market conditions, and coverage strategies.
  • Demonstrated success identifying service or workflow improvements that enhance the client experience.

Pay Range: Posted below*

*Any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with applicable state pay transparency laws, considering relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. Roles may also be eligible for a supplemental compensation, such as performance-based bonus, commission, or equity. Specific eligibility will be discussed with Talent Acquisition team.
