Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer

About the job

Want to see your electrical designs become working power systems? At NordicEPOD, you’ll develop power modules that keep data centers running, bringing together MV and LV switchgear, UPS systems, batteries and power distribution. You’ll follow your work from design and calculations through factory assembly, testing and delivery, working closely with mechanical engineers, suppliers and production. With real technical ownership and the factory close at hand, you’ll see the results of your decisions and help shape how we build and improve the designs and the product.

What you’ll do

• Turn customer specifications into designs that comply with NEK 400, NEK EN 61439 and Low Voltage Directive/CE requirements, and raise customer requirements that conflict with them or affect cost and lead time
• Produce and review single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, layout drawings and BOMs for MV and LV systems
• Carry out short-circuit, load, voltage-drop and selectivity calculations, and evaluate protection schemes
• Select and specify MV switchgear, transformers, LV switchboards, UPS and batteries from the major vendors globally
• Support tenders with early design work and technical clarifications
• Support production and the test team during manufacturing and FAT
• As Senior: lead the electrical design on a project, approve its design package before release, represent electrical design in customer design reviews, and coach the engineers working with you

What you need

• A bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, or a technical vocational degree plus relevant design experience
• Experience designing LV and/or MV power distribution: 2+ years for Electrical Engineer, 6+ years for Senior. At Senior level, this should include reviewing other engineers' designs.
• Working knowledge of NEK 400 and NEK EN 61439
• Fluent written and spoken English

Nice to have

• EPLAN Electric P8. It's our design tool. Experience with a similar tool is also fine.
• Protection and selectivity studies: relay settings, discrimination and arc flash calculations, in Febdok, ETAP or similar
• Understanding of automation design and building management systems
• MV switchgear: specifying or integrating equipment under IEC 62271
• Data center power: UPS systems and redundancy topologies such as 2N, N+1 and block redundancy
• International projects: working to customer specifications and to national codes outside Norway
• Hands-on background: work as an electrician or switchboard assembler.

Location and work model

Workplace address: Orhusveien 77, 3070 Sande i Vestfold.

This is a full-time, on-site role at our office in Sande. We don't offer remote work, because you work alongside production and testing departments.

Occasional travel to customers, site and suppliers.

Working language is English.
