Senior MEP Procurement Engineer

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process for MEP materials, equipment, systems, and related services.
  • Review MEP drawings, BOQs, specifications, and material requirements to develop accurate procurement plans.
  • Source, evaluate, and prequalify local and international MEP suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
  • Obtain and analyze technical and commercial quotations and prepare bid comparison sheets.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, warranties, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions.
  • Ensure all procured materials and equipment comply with approved technical specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with MEP, Engineering, Projects, Finance, and Site teams to align procurement activities with project timelines.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders and ensure proper documentation throughout the procurement cycle.
  • Monitor supplier performance, production, lead times, and delivery schedules to avoid project delays.
  • Resolve supplier and procurement-related issues, including shortages, delays, quality concerns, and discrepancies.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials or suppliers while maintaining required quality and specifications.
  • Maintain an updated database of suppliers, pricing, lead times, and market trends.
  • Support budget preparation, cost forecasting, and procurement reporting.
  • Conduct regular market research to identify new suppliers, products, technologies, and pricing trends.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval processes, and contractual requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies for multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Civil Engineering, preferably with an MEP specialization.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in MEP procurement, preferably within construction, real estate, contracting, or property development.
  • Strong technical understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, firefighting, and other MEP systems.
  • Proven experience sourcing and procuring MEP materials, equipment, and subcontracted works.
  • Strong supplier sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and contract management skills.
  • Ability to read and understand MEP drawings, BOQs, specifications, and technical submittals.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, commercial terms, and supplier management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement activities and priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with ERP/procurement systems is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
