Certified Dietary Manager

As a Certified Dietary Manager, you’ll play an important role within our unique and welcoming environment, where we offer assisted living, skilled nursing, memory support, and physical, speech, and occupational therapy. A successful candidate is one that will combine restaurant operational leadership with nutrition-focused care to create personalized experiences for residents.
You will provide training and leadership to the server team and work closely with our chefs regarding menu development, IDDSI practices, and dietary restrictions. You will balance this with the required delivery of medical nutrition therapy through nutrition assessments, individualized care planning recommendations, documentation, and discharge assessments. You’ll also collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, attend care conferences and participate in monthly quality assurance and performance improvement planning. A current and valid Certified Dietary Manager Certification for the state of Virginia is required of this role.
This is a full-time salaried position. Weeknight, weekend, and holiday availability required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborates with Director of Food and Beverage in the timely hiring, orientation, scheduling and on-going training and performance management of restaurant team members.
- Manages all related systems within the restaurants.
- Supervises the flow of service to ensure that residents, guests, family members, and staff receive quality dining service.
- Inspects workstations for completion of assigned side work.
- Responds to resident feedback addressing concerns in a timely, professional manner.
- Maintains timely and professional communication with the Director of Food and Beverages and the Executive Chef and shares all food comments and suggestions with the Executive Chef.
- Works with restaurant management to help ensure budgetary compliance.
- Responsible to manage and maintain the equipment necessary to successfully operate the restaurants at or above Mather service standards.
- Coordinates and executes theme meals and/or functions and related billing processes and provides accurate and timely information to the Restaurant Manager so that billing for events/functions can occur and resident satisfaction is ensured.
- Oversees dietary restrictions, follows IDDSI Practices.
- Performs training to team members on IDDSI and dietary needs.
- Oversees new admissions through completing a baseline care plan, culinary interview, and nutritional assessment.
- Oversees permanent residents through quarterly and annual culinary interviews, nutritional notes, and updated care plans.
- Attends Care Conferences.
- Provides nutrition interventions. (Supported by Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)).
- Completes Monthly and Quarterly QAPI Reports.
- Creates modified, specialty and non-select menus.
- Works closely with culinary team to develop nutritional menus for life centre.
- Establishes, operationalizes, engages team members in, and sustains a Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Progressive experience in an upscale restaurant and/or Life Plan community.
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and make independent decisions.
- CDM Certified.
- Proficient in Windows applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Knowledgeable in Point-of-Sale systems.
- Knowledgeable in job related federal, state, and local regulations to ensure safe and clean dining environment.
- Certification in food safety/sanitation and BASSET.
- English language proficiency.
Preferred:
- College degree in culinary or hospitality management.
- Knowledgeable in Online ordering, Online Reservations.
The salary base wage range provided is a good faith estimate of what Mather reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. The actual salary rate offered will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, certifications, years of experience, geographic location, and current market conditions. Eligibility for benefits is dependent on employment status and hours worked per pay period. Salary Pay Range
$72,000 $85,000 USD
