The Dalio Family Office (DFO) supports Barbara and Ray Dalio and their family in their ventures, investments, and philanthropic efforts under Dalio Philanthropies, which includes OceanX, Dalio Education, Endless Network, and the Beijing Dalio Foundation. Position Summary:

The Strategic Communicators Director is responsible for developing, editing, and managing high-quality written, audio, and video content across multiple channels and audiences. This role establishes, provides oversight, and helps execute strategic communications, ensuring all materials align with organizational goals, brand standards, editorial guidelines, and audience interests. The ideal candidate combines exceptional writing and editing skills with strong project management capabilities, sound editorial judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization and work directly with Head of Communications and leadership from the Dalio Family Office and Dalio Philanthropies and its operating programs on communications strategy and execution. This role requires regular in-office presence in either NYC or Westport, CT.

Day-to-day responsibilities would include a combination of the following:

  • Editorial Leadership
  • Oversee a wide variety of external and internal communications, ensuring accuracy, consistency, clarity, and quality.
  • Establish and maintain editorial voice, style guides, and content best practices.
  • Provide substantive, copy, and line editing for a variety of formats including articles, reports, thought leadership, website content, newsletters, speeches, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Ensure content reflects the organizations’ voices, brand positioning, and strategic objectives.
  • Content Development
  • Partner with subject matter experts, executives, agencies, and communications team members to create compelling content.
  • Research, write, and edit materials for diverse audiences.
  • Develop new communications campaigns and strategies for engaging target audiences.
  • Identify opportunities to repurpose and extend content across channels.
  • Strategic Communications Support
  • Support executive communications, both internally and externally
  • Contribute to communications and content strategies that advance organizational goals.
  • Provide editorial guidance for public-facing materials, including media, marketing, and stakeholder communications.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, attributes, and values:

  • Experience in publishing, media, communications, philanthropy, financial services, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Familiarity with AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, or similar editorial guidelines.
  • Experience supporting executive communications and thought leadership programs.
  • Track-record of managing team members and/or agency partners to execute publishing and social media goals.

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of professional experience in editorial, publishing, communications, content strategy, or related roles.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing content from development through publication.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to editorial excellence.
  • Prior experience working with senior leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, English, Publishing, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the year.

Compensation:

Compensation for the role includes a competitive salary in the range from $250,000 -$325,000 (inclusive of a merit-based bonus, dependent on years of experience, level of education obtained, as well as applicable skillset) and an excellent benefits package, including paid time off ranging from 15 to 25 days based on years of service, paid sick and safe leave, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid parental time off, birth mother recovery pay, sick family member pay, parental ramp back up program, gym reimbursement and generous employer match for 401k.
