Mammoth Distribution is one of California's leading cannabis distributors, home to top brands like Heavy Hitters , Papa & Barkley , and Almora . We're hiring a Creative Manager to set and elevate the creative standard across our brand portfolio — leading an in-house creative team and staying hands-on with the work across packaging, campaigns, retail, and experiential touchpoints. If you're a CPG creative leader who pairs a strong point of view with the discipline to ship polished, production-ready work on deadline, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Own and evolve the visual expression of the Mammoth portfolio brands, protecting what makes each one distinct while setting standards for typography, color, layout, photography, video, and packaging
  • Review priority creative before it ships, ensuring every asset is polished, accurate, channel-appropriate, and production-ready
  • Translate campaign strategy, product stories, consumer insight, and commercial priorities into clear visual concepts before execution begins
  • Partner closely with Marketing, brand leadership, and company leadership to understand the intent behind feedback and convert it into actionable creative direction
  • Present work with confidence and brevity — explain the idea, connect it to the objective, and recommend a clear path forward
  • Personally concept, design, refine, or art-direct high-visibility projects, guiding packaging, retail, digital, experiential, photography, and video creative from concept through final production
  • Give direct, specific feedback that improves hierarchy, storytelling, craft, and commercial clarity
  • Run a dependable workflow from brief through concept, review, production, approval, and handoff
  • Partner with Marketing and project management to prioritize work against business impact, deadlines, capacity, and dependencies
  • Build scalable templates, modular toolkits, file standards, and asset libraries that increase speed without making the work generic
  • Coach and develop designers through clear expectations, thoughtful assignments, and consistent critique
  • Surface tradeoffs early, manage stakeholder expectations, and protect the team from avoidable rework and unclear priorities

What You'll Bring

  • CPG brand experience, with a portfolio demonstrating strong campaign thinking and brand-building across multiple channels
  • Hands-on packaging design experience, including the ability to guide work from concept through production-ready files
  • Experience leading or managing an in-house creative team in a fast-moving, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Advanced design craft and fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud, with the ability and willingness to personally contribute to the work
  • Experience art-directing photography and video, including briefing, pre-production, on-set direction, and post-production review
  • Experience in cannabis, wellness, beauty, beverage, lifestyle, or another regulated consumer category

Work Environment

  • Based at our North Hollywood, CA headquarters, working closely with Marketing, brand leadership, and company ownership
  • Fast-paced, multi-brand environment that balances hands-on design work with team leadership and executive presentations

Compensation & Benefits

  • $95- 110K/year
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance – eligible after 60 days
  • Lead creative direction across an established, growing portfolio of recognized cannabis brands
