About the role
As the E&I Engineering Manager, you will Manage the electrical and instrument maintenance infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient operation of the Energy Centre.
You will have the opportunity to research, propose, design and manage improvement programmes that increase plant productivity within legislative requirements. You will also deliver within your budget.
Reponsibilities:
- Lead E&I Engineering: Lead the Electrical & Instrumentation function, providing technical leadership across the Energy Centre and wider EcoPark operations.
- Optimise Plant Performance: Drive improvements to electrical, instrumentation, control and process systems to maximise plant productivity, availability, efficiency and power generation while reducing outages.
- Manage Projects & Improvements: Research, design, specify and project-manage engineering improvements, including PLC, SCADA, control systems and HV/LV electrical infrastructure, from concept through to implementation.
- Ensure Compliance & Safety: Maintain high standards of electrical technical safety and ensure all engineering activities comply with statutory requirements, Environment Agency permits, health & safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Plan Maintenance & Outages: Own and continuously improve planned preventative maintenance strategies, asset reliability and major outage planning to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Manage Budgets & Investment: Develop CAPEX proposals, business cases, budgets and tender documentation, while managing departmental and project expenditure and ensuring improvements deliver measurable financial and operational benefits.
- Collaborate & Drive Strategy: Work closely with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and wider SUEZ/SITA engineering networks, sharing technical expertise and developing long-term engineering strategies that support LondonEnergy’s business objectives.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, we are looking for the following knowledge and experience:
- In depth technical and operational experience to oversee effective maintenance and commissioning plans implemented.
- Demonstrable experience of drafting accurate budgets and analysing, reporting and addressing variances.
- Successful experience of negotiating with suppliers of services for on time and to cost delivery.
- Experience of handling structural and cultural change in a unionized environment.
- Extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of Power or Process Plants
- Experience managing with a multi-discipline workforce.
- Experience of designing, costing and managing implementation of large
- Degree or Higher National Diploma/ Certificate in a relevant Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline.
- Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, guidance and systems, and other relevant Regulations, specific to the application and technology being managed.
