Role Purpose
You will run the place where LA28's volunteers first experience the Games. As Associate, Volunteer Experience, you lead day-to-day operations at the Volunteer Experience Center, making every assessment, onboarding, training, and engagement session safe, welcoming, and efficient. You coordinate schedules, staffing, session delivery, check-in, and wayfinding, supervise onsite staff, vendors, and temporary workforce partners, and keep internal stakeholders informed so the volunteer program is ready for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. From the first session, you are the steady, friendly presence volunteers remember.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operation of the Volunteer Experience Center, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and efficient experience for every volunteer.
- Serve as onsite operational lead, coordinating daily schedules, staffing plans, session delivery, volunteer flow, check-in, and wayfinding.
- Supervise onsite staff, volunteers, vendors, and temporary workforce partners, resolving issues in real time against operational standards.
- Oversee assessment, onboarding, training, and engagement sessions, keeping delivery effective, timelines on track, and operational needs addressed.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to coordinate workstreams, share operational updates, and support project tracking, reporting, and readiness planning.
Required Competencies
- Minimum 3 years of experience in volunteer programs, customer service, event operations, workforce operations, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree; or 3 years of equivalent experience in volunteer programs, event operations, or workforce operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and warmly with volunteers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and managing information in databases, CRM systems, or similar volunteer management tools.
Valued Experience
- Bilingual or multilingual language skills to support volunteers and visitors.
- Experience in an Olympic, Paralympic, sports, nonprofit, or hospitality environment.
- Experience supporting high-volume operations with large numbers of participants.
- Experience supervising temporary workforce or vendor teams onsite.

Physical Requirements Working Conditions
- Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
- The majority of work will be conducted in the Volunteer Experience Center and will involve evenings and weekends for an extended period of time.
- The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
- Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
- Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is $70,500 – $82,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
