SECURITY GUARD
This is protective service work in securing, patrolling and surveilling passageways of City property and grounds, and providing safety to the public. The work requires knowledge of work routines, procedures, rules, and regulations used in protecting City property and grounds that are learned through specialized training and job experiences. Contacts require skills in assessing, anticipating, reacting, and influencing behavior to turn a situation around. The security work is fairly routine following established routines, standing instructions and established procedures, but some variation in sequence of procedure is allowed based on situations encountered.
