This is a seconded position, meaning the selected candidate will be employed by ITAC but work full-time on assignment with one of our clients. While day-to-day responsibilities will be managed on-site with the client, ITAC provides ongoing support, resources, and benefits as your employer. This position is full-time contract work anticipated to last for twelve (12) months with the possibility for extension and requires the employee to be on the client's Richmond, VA facility. This position is for 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM. Please only apply if these requirements are agreeable to you.

Objective

We are seeking a full-time Senior Maintenance Technician (Millwright) to support the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of facility and production equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting production goals through preventive and corrective maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive industrial maintenance experience with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently, and experience leading maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, refrigeration, and control systems.
• Observe equipment performance and proactively identify potential maintenance issues before failure occurs.
• Interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, motors, controls, and low-to-medium voltage electrical equipment.
• Develop and execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and preventive maintenance documentation.
• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document work orders, preventive maintenance activities, and repair history.
• Coordinate maintenance work with production, contractors, and other departments to ensure timely completion of repairs and projects.
• Order parts and services as needed to support maintenance and repair activities.
• Lead maintenance efforts during equipment breakdowns and major repair projects.
• Mentor and train maintenance technicians on equipment maintenance, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to increase reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Maintain maintenance records, inventories, schedules, and repair logs.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 7 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing, food processing, beverage, packaging, or similar industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, motors, electrical controls, HVAC, and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, maintenance manuals, and technical documentation.
• Experience utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Skills

• Journeyman Millwright, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent trade certification.
• Experience in food & beverage, packaging, or high-speed manufacturing environments.
• Advanced electrical troubleshooting and controls experience.
• Welding, fabrication, machining, plumbing, and carpentry skills.
• Experience developing preventive maintenance programs and maintenance strategies.
• Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring and training maintenance personnel.
• Continuous improvement and reliability-centered maintenance experience.

The typical base salary range for this position is between $75000 - $85000.
