Junior-Senior AS/400 Back-End Software Engineer

We are looking for AS/400 Back-End Software Engineers across Junior, Mid, and Senior levels to develop and maintain core business applications running on the IBM i (AS/400) platform .

The role focuses on enterprise systems, batch processing, integrations, data management, and modernization using technologies including COBOL, RPG, CL, and Db2 for i .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications on IBM i / AS/400
• Develop and enhance programs using COBOL, RPG, and CL
• Build interfaces and integrations with internal and external systems
• Develop database components using Db2 for AS/400
• Troubleshoot production issues and performance bottlenecks
• Support batch operations, deployments, and production releases
• Participate in application modernization initiatives
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and engineering teams
• Maintain technical and operational documentation

Requirements

• Professional IBM i / AS/400 development experience appropriate to the seniority level
• Experience with COBOL
• Experience with RPG III / RPG IV / ILE RPG / Free-Format RPG
• Knowledge of CL (Control Language)
• Experience with Db2 for AS/400 and Embedded SQL
• Knowledge of DDS
• Experience with IBM Rational Developer or equivalent tools
• Understanding of batch processing and job scheduling
• Experience with AI-assisted software development and Specification-Driven Development practices
• Proficiency in Greek and English

Seniority levels: Junior: 1+ years | Mid: 3+ years | Senior: 5+ years. Senior profiles should bring strong IBM i architecture, optimization, integration, modernization, and technical leadership experience.

• Message-based integration solutions
• Experience with insurance core business systems
• Knowledge of Life Insurance, Policy Administration, Claims, Billing, Commissions, Actuarial/Financial Processing, batch processing, or regulatory reporting
