Role Overview

  • Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of our flagship EMEA events and networks portfolio, overseeing planning, execution and evaluation of high-impact events that align with strategic objectives and deepen community engagement across our professional sectors.
  • Own year-on-year revenue growth, yield, margin and delivery quality across the portfolio, working closely with senior leadership, brand directors and marketing to create memorable experiences that drive customer engagement and brand visibility across finance, insurance and technology markets.

Role Summary

Infopro Digital Services Limited is seeking a Production Director for its Global Financial Markets Division. In this pivotal role, you will lead and manage the entire lifecycle of our key flagship events for the region, overseeing the planning, execution and evaluation of high-impact events that align with our strategic objectives and foster community engagement across our professional sectors.

The Global Financial Markets Division serves its professional communities through a range of content-focused products and services, including digital solutions (websites, newsletters, webinars, special reports and surveys) and in-person events (congresses, conferences, summits, awards, training). Over 40 events are organised each year across the globe, with a total attendance of almost 20,000 professionals.

The Production Director will assume overall responsibility for the EMEA events and networks portfolio, as well as global learning products, ensuring the portfolio achieves year-on-year revenue growth while improving yield, margin and quality of delivery. The role also manages the co-location initiative of various brands within the Global Financial Markets Portfolio.

The Production Director reports directly into the Global Head of Content, with additional reporting lines to the MD for Events & Marketing Solutions and the Brand Director for Central Banking and Learning, and works closely with the Head of Sales for Events & Marketing Solutions, managing the Production Leads for events, networks and training across the Global Financial Markets Division.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Delivery

  • Implement comprehensive events strategy that supports overall business goals and enhances customer relationships.
  • Manage all aspects of event planning, execution and post-event analysis, ensuring the highest standards of quality and alignment with company branding.
  • Oversee speakers, partners and engage with key commercial relationships, ensuring high-level engagement and retention.
  • Promote flexibility within the production team to fix any potential resource gaps.
  • Ensure consistent audience engagement across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing and product teams, to ensure alignment and engagement at all events.
  • Research and identify new event opportunities and formats that attract potential customers and engage existing clients.
  • Lead a team of event professionals, providing mentorship, support and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Identify potential risks associated with events and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.

Commercial

  • Manage and own production budgets, ensuring profitability across the portfolio.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs including speaker and audience growth in seniority and numbers, revenue contribution (profit), client & revenue retention, engagement, and NPS metrics.
  • Identify and implement cost efficiencies when required.
  • Own revenue objectives and tier one and two sponsor & partner relationships.
  • Work closely with the sponsorship sales team to drive revenue for events and marketing services, and foster strong relationships between teams.
  • Work closely with the delegate sales team on delegate sales.
  • Continue to develop leaders' networks as a practitioner community builder and significant sponsorship revenue driver.

Regional Strategy

EMEA Events

  • Implementation of strategy, working together with the Risk, 1LoD and Waters teams. Speaker recruitment, agenda development, and content delivery.
  • Ensure consistency in best practice, speaker, delegate, content & commercial offerings across Risk, 1LoD and Waters.
  • Scale our emerging Boutique offerings such as Energy Risk and The Markets Summit.
  • Drive agility and profitable delivery across Marketing Services & Bespoke projects.
  • Partner with commercial, marketing and sales teams to identify growth opportunities & build scalable offerings.
  • Cross-functional planning to ensure alignment with business objectives, audience needs & revenue targets.
  • Ensure smooth coordination across all event formats (in-person & digital), leveraging marketing services & webinars where appropriate for lead nurturing towards flagship and boutique events.
  • Act as senior brand ambassador, representing the portfolio at industry events and in client conversations.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial event production, event marketing, event logistics and events sales.
  • Experience of launching and growing LSEs, awards, conferences, expos and various event formats all over the world.
  • Proven track record of business management, sponsorship sales and analytical skills.
  • Extensive commercial events experience.
  • Extensive experience of launching and growing events globally.
  • Extensive experience of managing and leading teams.
  • Proactive, curious, high-energy and results-oriented – a reputation for getting things done.
  • Industry knowledge of financial markets (derivatives & capital markets, risk management), insurance, or financial technology is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous relevant work experience in a conference or events research environment.
  • Very strong attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Ability to build business relationships at all levels, and to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
