Planning Engineer | Oil and Gas | Saudi Arabia

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer – Mechanical to support project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Refinery projects in Saudi Arabia.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in mechanical construction, maintenance, shutdown and turnaround projects , with the ability to develop and monitor project schedules and coordinate effectively with site, engineering, procurement, and subcontractor teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for mechanical construction, maintenance, shutdown, and turnaround activities.
• Prepare baseline schedules, look-ahead schedules, recovery schedules, and progress updates .
• Monitor actual project progress against planned schedules and identify delays, critical activities, and potential risks.
• Coordinate with Site Execution, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, and HSE teams to ensure timely project execution.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and planning dashboards .
• Track manpower, equipment, materials, productivity, and resource requirements.
• Analyze project performance and provide recommendations for schedule recovery and corrective actions .
• Monitor critical path activities and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
• Prepare progress measurement and quantity tracking for mechanical activities.
• Support preparation of S-curves, progress curves, histograms, and productivity reports .
• Coordinate with subcontractors and monitor their progress against approved schedules.
• Assist in identifying schedule risks, delays, and potential extension-of-time impacts .
• Participate in project progress meetings and provide accurate planning updates to management and clients.
• Ensure planning and reporting activities comply with project requirements and client standards.
