Senior AI FEM Simulation Engineer

Location: Helsinki, Finland Team: Huawei Finland Research Center, Hardware and System Lab

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer specializing in finite element method (FEM) and structural simulation to join our Hardware and System Lab in Helsinki.

In this role, you will combine engineering simulation, scientific computing, and artificial intelligence to develop next-generation simulation technologies. You will work closely with structural simulation engineers to improve modeling efficiency, accelerate complex simulations, and build intelligent tools for engineering analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Simulating complex structural system, finding efficient solutions for the nonlinearities in geometries, contacts, materials, etc.
• Data processing, data analyzing, feature engineering, AI modeling, and AI model optimizing in the domain of structural simulation.
• Designing and implementing efficient AI algorithm solutions based on domain knowledge and database features to improve simulation efficiency.
• Tracking the development of international cutting-edge AI technologies, exploring innovative application scenarios of AI+ simulation, and promoting the implementation of technological innovation.
• Working closely with the simulation engineer team to develop intelligent simulation tools, optimize the simulation process, and improve the overall work efficiency.

Required qualifications and skills

• Master's degree or above in material science, mechanical engineering, computer science, etc.
• Proficient in mathematical foundations such as numerical analysis methods, machine learning theory, and probability statistics.
• Proficient in material mechanical behaviors, and different types of constitutive functions.
• Familiar with the principle of finite element analysis theory and its application in engineering simulation.
• Familiar with the principle of LLM and Graph Neural Network.
• Proficient in programming languages, such as Python and C++, and have good code development capabilities.
• Proficient in commercial simulation software including Abaqus, COMSOL, or ANSYS.
• Familiar with mainstream machine learning frameworks.
• Familiar with mainstream database management frameworks.
• Practical experience in AI+ FEM simulation projects is preferred.
• Experience in large-scale data processing and model optimization is preferred.
• Experience in LLM/Graph Neural Network is preferred.

Contract Type and Work Arrangement: This is a full-time, permanent employee position based on-site at our Helsinki office.
