ABOUT THE ROLE

The Vehicle Integration Technician builds, installs, tests, and repairs the hardware used to retrofit industrial vehicles with Hive autonomy systems.

The technician works closely with integration engineers and helps turn first-of-kind engineering designs into safe, repeatable installations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assemble wiring harnesses, electrical cabinets, cables, and connector systems.
• Install sensors, compute hardware, controllers, actuators, brackets, and wiring on vehicles.
• Perform crimping, connector assembly, soldering, wiring, labeling, and mechanical installation.
• Read and follow electrical schematics, harness drawings, BOMs, and installation procedures.
• Perform continuity, insulation, voltage, power, CAN connectivity, and functional checks.
• Support machine bring-up, commissioning, debugging, and acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot installation problems and assist engineers with root-cause analysis.
• Perform field repairs, engineering changes, and electrical or mechanical rework.
• Document build issues and provide feedback to improve Vehicle Adapter Kits.
• Maintain workshop tools, calibrated equipment, inventory, and build records.
• Follow electrical, mechanical, customer-site, and lockout/tagout safety procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with automotive, industrial equipment, robotics, heavy machinery, or similar systems.
• Strong wiring harness assembly, crimping, connector, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience using multimeters, power supplies, hand tools, and standard workshop equipment.
• Basic understanding of CAN wiring and vehicle electrical systems.
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
• Ability to work safely and independently in workshop and field environments.
• Willingness to travel regularly and support installations at customer sites.
