Sr. Accountant

As the Senior Accountant, you will be instrumental in developing a robust account reconciliation process. This will be a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting a successful year-end audit. Reporting directly to the Senior Accounting Manager, this position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

What You'll Do:

• Handle reconciliation of high-volume and high-value accounts such as, accrued sales tax, bank clearing accounts, accrued inventory purchases and prepaids.
• Reconcile daily cash flow reporting and monthly bank statements. File and follow up on chargebacks and outstanding uncashed checks.
• Import credit card transactions and reconcile at month-end.
• Develop, document, and implement improved reconciliation procedures and policies to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the reconciliation process.
• Ensure all reconciliations comply with internal controls and external audit requirements, providing necessary documentation and explanations during audit
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, amortizations, and reclassifications, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare data and documents for sales tax and VAT filings and ensuring timely reconciliations of related accounts.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Operations and Sales Teams to provide data support and ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment of business objectives
• Supports special projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
• Oversee and calculate royalty reporting to ensure compliance with multiple licensing contracts.
• Reconcile marketing costs and coordinate with marketing team to calculate cost per acquisition (CPA).
• Ensure revenue has been posted for all platforms including Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Walmart Seller Central, and multiple retail accounts.
• Collaborate with retail team to ensure accurate invoicing and oversee collections for accounts receivable.
• Work closely with the finance team to analyze financial data and prepare reports for management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
• CPA preferred
• Some public accounting experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with ERP accounting software (experience with NetSuite a plus)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, complex formulas, processing large amounts of data)
• Excellent communication skills
• Interest in health and wellness, personal care, and/or eCommerce industries
• Experience working in the consumer products industry is highly preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Someone who gets things done without perfect resources is innovative and works with a sense of urgency.
• Someone who proactively helps others, stays positive and has a good sense of humor.
