Grants Manager

The Grants Manager supports the mission of the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law by leading and supporting the full grant lifecycle to help sustain and grow the organization’s mission-driven work. As a member of the leadership team, this role combines project management, compliance, and writing to ensure accurate reporting and effective stewardship of public and private funding. The salary range for this full-time, exempt position is $75,000–$86,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Key responsibilities include identifying and researching public and private grant opportunities aligned with the Buhai Center’s mission and goals; developing, writing, and submitting grant proposals, reports, invoices, and other funder communications; managing grant calendars, compliance deadlines, records, and tracking systems; collaborating with staff, accounting, and consultants to collect data and prepare required documentation; and serving as the primary point of contact for grant funders, including coordinating site visits, audits, and other funder communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered in place of a degree.
• At least three years of grants management experience.
• Grant management experience within a public interest law firm is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage the full grant lifecycle, including proposal writing, post-award compliance, reporting, and audits.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with funders, leadership, and colleagues.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to similar software tools.
• Experience with LegalServer is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality and strong ethical judgment.
• Availability to respond to time-sensitive funder needs outside regular business hours when necessary.

Location & Schedule

The position is based at the Buhai Center’s office in Los Angeles/Koreatown. The organization currently operates under a hybrid in-office/work-from-home policy, based on organizational needs and position requirements. The anticipated start date is October 2026.
