The VIRGINIA Class Propulsion Plant Test Equipment group is cognizant over support systems used to test the reactor plant and steam plant system's piping and components at Electric Boat's Groton Shipyard, Electric Boat's Quonset Point Manufacturing Facility, and the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department at Sub-Base New London. Cognizance over the support systems spans both the Virginia and the Los Angeles class of ships with this group support both new construction, and major overhaul availabilities that Electric Boat is contracted to perform.
