School Cleaner

Role Overview

To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety across all classrooms and facilities at EtonHouse Bhutan International School at all times. The school cleaner plays a vital role in maintaining a pristine and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop classrooms (currently also used as snack and lunch eating spaces), hallways and common areas daily. First clean of the day to be carried out and completed before 8:30am each working day.
• Vacuum clean all carpet areas and rugs daily.
• Clean the main school entrance at least twice a day.
• Wipe and disinfect shelves, tables and desks in all classrooms daily, paying especial attention to the Early Years classroom
• Wash student and staff toilets daily; and clear bathroom waste bins at least once a day.
• Clean and wipe down glass surfaces, windows and walls immediately when soiled.
• Sanitize high-touch surfaces (e.g., doorknobs, stairway handrails, toilet flushes and taps) daily.
• Clear all indoor dustbins at least once a day, transporting the trash to the designated main disposal bins outside the school building.
• Promptly clean, tidy, and prepare classrooms and shared learning spaces for the next session's usage.
• Perform other ad hoc environmental and cleanliness duties as assigned by the Principal.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant commercial or professional cleaning experience.
• Prior working experience in a school or educational setting is highly desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively within the school community.
• Proven ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision.
