About CORTO
We are CORTO, a cutting-edge software company dedicated to revolutionising the legal industry. Our mission is to empower legal practitioners with AI-driven solutions that streamline their workflow, boost productivity, and provide more efficient client service.
Our team of AI experts and engineers collaborate to develop intelligent software tailored to the unique needs of lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants.
Our innovative AI solutions automate routine tasks, simplify document management, and enhance decision-making, allowing legal professionals to focus on what they do best - providing expert legal counsel.
We're rapidly scaling from 80 to 150+ employees, with a highly technical workforce where around 90% of the team are developers and engineers. Working alongside our Sydney-based team of passionate high achievers, you'll join a fast-growing technology business where things rarely stay the same for long - and if you're smart, caring, and ambitious, you'll be in great company.
What you'll do
CORTO is building the next generation of AI-powered accounting tools for the legal industry, and we need an Escalations Analyst who loves solving problems and understands accounting. You'll sit at the frontline as we launch our new product — using your troubleshooting instincts to trace an issue to its source, and your accounting know-how to work out why something isn't adding up.
In this role, you will:
- Investigate and resolve issues our customers (law firms and their bookkeepers) raise about the product - often integration problems with Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks.
- Use your understanding of accounting workflows (ledgers, reconciliations, trust accounting, invoicing) to diagnose what's gone wrong and why.
- Triage and prioritise incidents based on customer impact.
- Work with our developers to log bugs, test fixes, and support product improvements - you'll learn to dig into logs and APIs, and we'll teach you the tools to do it.
- Participate in testing and validation of accounting modules in each release.
- Provide clear guidance to our global helpdesk and support teams.
- Spot recurring issues and help us improve how things work.
What you'll bring
The essentials:
- Natural problem-solving instincts — you enjoy digging into a problem, working out what's actually happening, and don't stop until you've found the root cause.
- An accounting knack — you've used accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks, or you've worked somewhere accounting-adjacent and found the numbers just made sense to you.
- A good understanding of accounting or bookkeeping fundamentals — you know your way around a ledger, a reconciliation and an invoice.
- Comfort with technology and a genuine appetite to learn the technical side.
- A curiosity about fintech and AI — you'll be working at the sharp end of an AI accounting product, and you're excited by that.
Nice to have (but we'll happily teach you):
- Experience with LEAP or other legal practice management software.
- Any exposure to support or troubleshooting tools — logs, APIs, Postman, Jira, Salesforce, Sumo Logic.
- Previous experience in a software support, helpdesk or escalations role.
You don't need to be an accountant, and you don't need to be a developer. If you love solving problems and accounting makes sense to you, we'll teach you the rest of our stack.
You're the type of person who
- Has a proactive mindset with sharp prioritisation and problem-solving instincts.
- Communicates and collaborates brilliantly - with teammates and customers alike.
- Asks why before jumping to how, and doesn't stop until you've found the actual root cause.
- Brings a great attitude and a genuine passion for delivering excellent service — no task too big or small.
