As an HVAC/Refrigeration (HVAC/R) Service Technician, you will safely troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and light industrial heating, cooling, refrigeration, and control systems. You will work independently and with a team to deliver timely, professional service to customers throughout an assigned territory.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely perform assigned HVAC/R maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on Commercial/Industrial HVAC equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment breakdowns, test components with appropriate instruments, disassemble and reassemble parts, and complete necessary repairs.
  • Service, diagnosis, and troubleshoot refrigeration equipment, including coolers, reach-in coolers, walk-in boxes, refrigerated display cases, and ice machines.
  • Service, diagnoses, and troubleshoot split systems, packaged rooftop units, heat pumps, direct-expansion (DX) systems, pneumatic systems, electrical control systems, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Apply HVAC/R knowledge and experience to maintain medium- to large-sized, complex heating, cooling, refrigeration, and associated control systems.
  • Prepare for on-site installations and repairs by reviewing building layouts, gathering materials, and coordinating work with customers and the dispatcher.
  • Complete required electronic service documentation daily using a handheld device.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to complete assigned tasks within established time frames.
  • Operate a company vehicle to complete service calls within assigned territory.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects assigned.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

  • Three to five years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial and/or industrial HVAC/R equipment.
  • Experience servicing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting refrigeration equipment, including coolers, reach-in coolers, walk-in boxes, refrigerated display cases, and ice machines.
  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • OSHA 10-hour training preferred.
