IT Support Technician

We are seeking an IT Support Technician to join our IT team. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day IT needs of our office while also coordinating the procurement, preparation and delivery of IT equipment and supplies to our vessels.

As an IT Support Technician, you will:

Vessel IT Supplies (approximately 60%)

• Receive and process IT equipment and consumables requests from vessels.
• Source, order and track hardware, accessories and spare parts through approved suppliers.
• Prepare, configure and dispatch equipment to vessels in coordination with agents and logistics partners.
• Maintain accurate IT inventory records.
• Keep detailed delivery and cost records.

HQ Help Desk (approximately 40%)

• Act as the first-line IT support contact for headquarters users, covering hardware, software and printing-related issues.
• Log, prioritize and resolve support tickets, escalating complex issues to senior IT staff when required.
• Assist with the onboarding and offboarding of users and IT equipment.
• Provide clear and timely communication to users regarding the progress and resolution of their requests.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

• A degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Previous experience in IT support, help desk operations or a similar role.
• Practical knowledge of Windows operating systems, computer hardware, peripherals and printers.
• Good understanding of basic networking and troubleshooting principles.
• Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Experience in a shipping, maritime or logistics environment will be considered an advantage.
