Principal AI Architect

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a senior, principal-level architecture role at a cybersecurity ratings and risk intelligence company, focused on shaping the AI strategy that powers enterprise-scale security products. You will own the design and direction of AI systems that serve large enterprise customers, sitting at the intersection of cutting-edge AI architecture and real-world security applications.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design and oversee enterprise-scale AI and ML systems, setting the technical direction and architecture standards across the platform.
• Architect and deliver multi-agent and agentic AI systems in production environments.
• Lead AI/ML architecture decisions and define long-term technical strategy for large-scale, enterprise-facing systems.
• Build guardrails, safety mechanisms, and control systems to ensure responsible and reliable AI model behavior in production.
• Architect real-time data pipelines and drive platform modernization initiatives.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams and technical architects, guiding best practices across the organization.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 10 to 12 or more years of experience in AI/ML architecture or related engineering leadership roles.
• Demonstrated track record of building and delivering enterprise-scale AI systems in production.
• Hands-on experience designing multi-agent or agentic AI architectures at scale.
• Experience building AI safety mechanisms, guardrails, or model control systems for production use.
• Background in SaaS platform architecture and scaling systems for enterprise customers.
• Domain knowledge in cybersecurity, risk management, or security ratings.
• Experience leading engineering teams or managing technical architects.
• Comfort working in a hybrid environment with regular presence in New York City.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The annual salary range for this role is $270,000 to $330,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

LOCATION

This is a hybrid role based in New York, NY, United States. Candidates should be located in or willing to relocate to Manhattan.
