Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage freight and logistics technology team as a customer-facing engineer. You will work directly with logistics teams to turn operational challenges into reliable, AI-powered products, partnering closely with engineering from discovery through deployment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Work with logistics teams to understand their workflows and translate customer needs into system designs.
• Build full-stack tools using TypeScript and Node.js, with React where appropriate.
• Integrate enterprise systems such as ERP and transport management platforms, APIs, SFTP, and event queues.
• Develop reliable data pipelines for messy information from multiple sources.
• Help shape product direction and technical decisions with the engineering team.
• Own work from initial design through production deployment, iterating quickly based on user feedback.
• Travel regularly to customer sites across Europe and Asia.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 3 years of experience building full-stack applications or backend systems in production, with a record of stable engineering roles.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills, plus experience designing APIs and integrating external and enterprise systems.
• Experience specifying and shipping products directly with users, and building backend infrastructure that can scale.
• Production experience delivering LLM or agent functionality, such as RAG, evaluations, or orchestration.
• Familiarity with Docker, Terraform, GCP, or AWS, and building data pipelines for unstructured or inconsistent data.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and comfort working with autonomy in an early-stage environment.
• React or another modern frontend framework is a plus. Logistics, supply chain, or operations experience is also beneficial.

LOCATION

Hybrid in Berlin, Germany, with regular travel to customer sites across Europe and Asia.
