Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

At the highest level, must have an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, and committed effort to perform their job in an ethical and proper manner. This role will prepare all supplies for day-to-day duties to ensure that the entire site can run smoothly. The CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) will occasionally assist with inventory, clerical, and/or other delegated tasks as needed and approved by the supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Conducting patient intake, documenting comprehensive medical history, and recording vital signs.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Maintain a clean work environment for both staff and patients, including the thorough sanitation of equipment.
• Support healthcare providers by assisting with certain exams and/or procedures.
• Administer medications as ordered by the provider, ensuring proper preparation and dosage.
• Facilitate seamless medication management by promptly calling in prescriptions and refills under the guidance of the provider.
• Verify the use of controlled substances as required by the provider, utilizing the state-provided system in adherence to regulatory compliance.
• Conduct necessary laboratory tests, including procedures such as venipuncture and urine collection.
• Perform EKGs as required and prescribed by the provider.
• Handle medical correspondence, including contacting patients for results or scheduling return visits as directed by providers.
• Maintain each patient's Electronic Health Record (EHR) with meticulous documentation while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Effectively communicate patient concerns or changes to the healthcare provider.
• Assist with general office tasks such as faxing, scanning documents, and filing records.
• Utilize specialized portals to create lab work and/or radiology orders, closely monitor processing, and retrieve requested results for patients, as requested by providers.
• Additional delegated tasks by the supervisor.

OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Other duties that may arise from time-to-time and/or commensurate with the title and position

Requirements

• 2+ years experience as CNA
• Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant License in good standing
• Current basic life support certification
• Recent clinical experience within 6 months
• Possess clerical skills
• Able to wear PPE for extended periods of time without restriction
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially to a diverse range of audiences and settings.
• The ability to make decisions.
• The ability to handle multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Ability to deal with high pressure situations
• The ability to lift 40 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
• Understanding and acceptance that the job has inherent risk of exposure to patients with infectious diseases, including but not limited to COVID-positive cases.
• Full compliance with all CDC and company regulations
