Mechanical Fitter

What You Will Do

• Maintain and service industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults in conveyors, augers, bearings, belts, motors and gearboxes.
• Strip down and rebuild mechanical equipment.
• Carry out welding, fabrication and machinery installation.
• Maintain pneumatic systems and assist with equipment improvements.
• Complete maintenance records and follow safe working procedures.
• Work closely with plant operators and the maintenance team.

Requirements

What You Will Need

• At least two years’ relevant mechanical maintenance or fitting experience.
• A recognised Mechanical Fitting, Maintenance or Fabrication qualification, including an equivalent qualification obtained in the Philippines.
• Welding and fabrication experience is essential.
• Strong machinery repair and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, milling or agricultural environment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical instructions.
• Good teamwork, initiative and attention to detail.
• Sufficient English to communicate with colleagues and understand technical and safety instructions.

Experience with milling equipment, pneumatic systems and basic electrical systems would be an advantage.
