Carpenter

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other construction materials.
• Construct and install frameworks, doors, window frames, partitions, ceilings, and other structures.
• Carry out first-fix and second-fix carpentry work.
• Install timber structures, fixtures, fittings, and finishes.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and carpentry machinery safely and effectively.
• Repair, modify, and maintain existing wooden structures and fixtures.
• Ensure all work is accurately measured, levelled, aligned, and finished to a high standard.
• Work closely with other trades and site supervisors to meet project requirements.
• Maintain tools and keep the work area clean and organised.
• Follow site health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Carpenter in construction or a related environment.
• Good knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and measurements.
• Experience with both rough and finish carpentry is an advantage.
• Skilled in using hand and power tools.
• Good attention to detail and quality of workmanship.
• Physically fit and able to handle materials and work at heights where required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant carpentry qualification, apprenticeship, or trade certification is an advantage.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
