Junior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Junior Systems Engineer to join our team at our Athens offices.

Position Overview

In this role, you will apply root cause operation break fixes and proactive maintenance activities to Atcom HQ, in order to keep services up and running, while adhering Level 1 support to Atcom Personnel. You will operate in complex, highly-secure and highly-available operation environments, interacting directly with technology experts. Working closely with functions across Atcom SA, you will follow the Company's processes and methodologies to ensure infrastructure stability and seamless daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of software, systems, and services. Perform hardware/software upgrades to existing Atcom HQ user infrastructure as needed.
• Investigate error messages and determine timely resolution. Reinstall programs or replace corrupted files that cause operational errors.
• Respond to internal requests for service, determine the nature of the issue, and provide effective user support. Promote and maintain high quality, professional service with all Atcom personnel.
• In cases where advanced support is required, liaise with the appropriate internal departments or external vendors. Work closely with other network and systems administrators to identify and reduce skillset deficiencies.
• Provide basic technical training to colleagues as required, specifically in the office suite and various software across Windows and MacOS platforms.
• Learn and demonstrate system standards and best practices regarding Microsoft Azure and Office365 Workspaces. Increase your skillset through self-study and structured training.
• Monitor environment health and report operational status, updates, and infrastructure problems directly to the IT Manager and the Cloud Services Director.

Requirements

• Degree in ICT or a related discipline. A Postgraduate Degree in an ICT-related field will be considered a strong plus.
• 1 to 2 years of real-world working experience in the ICT field, with hands-on exposure to server systems (basic DELL knowledge) and basic networking concepts.
• Proven experience with MS Windows Servers (2012R2 to 2022 and up), MS SQL Servers (2016 to 2019), and basic Linux administration (Ubuntu, Debian). Relevant certifications will be considered an asset.
• Solid understanding of hybrid systems, including Microsoft Azure Cloud (supporting 90% of Atcom assets) and VMware Private Clouds. Relevant cloud/virtualization certifications will be highly evaluated.
• Very good understanding of IT processes/functions, strong analytical and reporting skills, and experience working within highly regulated environments.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects, perform well under pressure, manage time effectively, and act as a strong team player while also working independently.
• Excellent communication skills in both Greek and English (both verbal and written). Knowledge of additional languages will be considered an asset.
