Location: Pinecrest Veterinary Hospital, Owosso, Michigan

Pinecrest Veterinary Hospital is a progressive, innovative 4-doctor small animal practice in Owosso, Michigan. Our team is known for delivering high-quality care using advanced diagnostics and treatments—including ultrasound, echocardiography, full in-house lab work, laser therapy, and a wide range of surgical procedures from routine to complex.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Veterinary Assistant , your duties will include:

  • Assisting veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
  • Providing compassionate care and handling for patients of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Administering medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinary team.
  • Preparing and maintaining exam rooms, surgical suites, and equipment.
  • Performing diagnostic tests, such as lab work and radiography, under supervision.
  • Educating clients on basic pet care and post-treatment instructions.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring a clean and organized clinic environment.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 1 Year Experience as a Veterinary Assistant is required.
  • Skills: Strong technical and client communication abilities, including performing radiography and basic lab work in a veterinary setting. Experience supporting veterinary surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring preferred.
  • Clinical Experience: Experience assisting during veterinary exams, administering medications or vaccines under veterinary direction, and working in a small animal practice.
  • Client Care: Experience communicating frequently with veterinary clients in person, educating pet owners on basic pet care, and giving post-treatment instructions.
  • Systems: Experience using patient record systems in a veterinary setting.
  • Mindset: A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a passion for patient care.
  • Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Authorization: Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be available on Saturday.
