This is Edenspiekermann

We are Edenspiekermann - an independent design consultancy with 40+ years of experience helping world-leading organizations invent, build, and evolve their products. Our Product Strategy practice works directly with product teams at the intersection of market insight, design excellence, and AI-driven development.

Our interaction designers work in agile and interdisciplinary teams on websites and platforms for major brands as well as for startups. Our teams combine conceptual thinking, a sophisticated understanding of design and a deep knowledge of web and app development to develop a digital product or service with a user-centric approach. In doing so, we advise and coach our clients' teams to provide the best customer experience for their customers.

Description

You connect product and brand strategy — defining who an organisation serves, what value it creates and how that value becomes a distinctive experience. You turn research, business ambitions and market opportunities into clear choices about positioning, product direction and design.

Research and data analysis are central to your work. You bring together qualitative insights and quantitative evidence to make sense of complex markets, customer behaviour and competitive dynamics. You translate this understanding into strategic opportunities, define meaningful KPIs and use them to evaluate progress and guide decisions.

Your strength is leading strategic work: framing the right questions, making sense of complexity and helping teams decide where to focus. You also have the design skills to make strategy tangible, translating it into user journeys, product concepts, prototypes and interfaces.

You do not need to be equally accomplished in every discipline. We are looking for someone whose core strength is strategy across product and brand, and who can make that strategy tangible through design. In your application, show us how your thinking shaped a direction, enabled a decision and influenced what was ultimately built.

Your tasks

  • Lead strategy across product and brand . Connect audience needs, market opportunities and business goals to define a coherent direction for brands, digital products and services.
  • Lead complex market and customer analysis . Combine qualitative research, such as interviews and user studies, with quantitative evidence from surveys, market data and product analytics. Synthesise findings into actionable audience segments, unmet needs and opportunities for differentiation and growth.
  • Define KPIs and measure strategic progress . Translate brand and product objectives into measurement frameworks with clear KPIs, baselines and targets. Work with clients and analytics teams to assess performance, test assumptions and adapt strategic priorities.
  • Develop actionable brand foundations . Create positioning, value propositions, brand architecture and messaging frameworks that guide product, design and communication decisions.
  • Define product direction . Translate strategic opportunities into product visions, experience principles and prioritised opportunities. Work with product and technology teams to shape roadmaps, clarify trade-offs and decide which assumptions to test first.
  • Make strategy tangible through design . Develop user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, interactive prototypes and UI concepts to explore, communicate and validate strategic ideas.
  • Connect brand promise and product experience . Ensure that interaction patterns, content and visual design express the positioning and deliver meaningful value to users.
  • Build alignment and enable decisions . Plan and facilitate workshops together with our Directors, present clear recommendations to senior stakeholders and help teams commit to a shared direction.
  • Carry strategy through delivery . Stay involved as concepts become products, identities and design systems, helping teams apply strategic principles and resolve emerging questions.
  • Work with global brands, publishing houses and public institutions, including healthcare organisations, cities and universities.
  • Coach colleagues and help develop our product and brand strategy offering, including useful applications of AI in research, concept development and experience design.

Your profile

  • 6+ years of relevant experience , with substantial responsibility for leading product and/or brand strategy, ideally in an agency or consultancy. You have worked across both disciplines, with deeper expertise in one and credible practical experience in the other.
  • Strong research and data analysis skills . You have led complex market, audience or competitive analyses that combine qualitative and quantitative methods. You can frame research questions, assess data quality, interpret quantitative findings and reconcile conflicting evidence into clear strategic recommendations.
  • Experience defining KPIs and measurement frameworks . You have translated strategic objectives into relevant brand, product and business metrics — such as consideration, adoption, retention or conversion — and used the findings to inform decisions. You understand the limitations of the data and can collaborate effectively with research and analytics specialists.
  • A track record of owning strategic decisions . You have framed challenges, developed recommendations and helped clients or teams make choices about audiences, positioning, value propositions or product direction.
  • Experience producing strategy that teams can use . Your work includes outcomes such as evidence-based audience segmentation, an agreed positioning and messaging framework, a validated product proposition, or a product vision with clear priorities and measurable success criteria. You can explain how these informed roadmaps, design briefs and investment decisions.
  • Case studies that connect insight, strategy and impact . You can articulate the problem, your contribution, the choices made and what changed as a result — supported by research findings, business or user metrics, or evidence of adoption within the organisation.
  • Hands-on UX and UI skills . You can translate strategic direction into coherent flows, wireframes, prototypes and interface designs using tools such as Figma, and use feedback and testing to improve them.
  • Experienced in designing with and for AI , its implications for brands and digital products.
  • A strong understanding of brand expression . You understand how identity, typography, layout, colour and language contribute to a consistent experience, and can work closely with visual and verbal identity specialists.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills , with the ability to guide both senior stakeholder discussions and practical working sessions.
  • A structured, curious and collaborative approach , with the confidence to navigate ambiguity and take ownership from initial research through delivery.
  • Fluent English; German is a strong plus.
