IT O&L System Lead | Pharma (100% remote from Spain or Portugal)

We are looking for an IT O&L System Lead to ensure the operational excellence, stability, and compliance of a group of systems and applications within a global IT environment.

In this role, you will oversee day-to-day system operations, ensuring compliance with IT standards and coordinating activities across business and IT teams. You will combine IT Service Management practices with a solid technical understanding of infrastructure, cloud, databases, networking, and data platforms, while supporting system transitions, enhancements, and lifecycle management.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES 🚀:

  • Monitor SLAs, access and identity controls, audit trails, and other operational requirements.
  • Ensure operational compliance and maintain the required system documentation.
  • Coordinate backup, recovery, disaster recovery testing, and infrastructure patching activities.
  • Manage incidents, problems, and changes throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Implement small software enhancements and configuration changes.
  • Coordinate software management and system-related activities across IT and business teams.
  • Collect, assess, and process demands from business users.
  • Work with Infrastructure teams on system remediation, migration, replacement, and decommissioning.
  • Coordinate system archiving and retirement activities.
  • Support the onboarding of systems from functional areas into the EOC.
  • Oversee knowledge transfer, shadowing, and reverse-shadowing during system transitions.
  • Communicate transition progress and results to the EOC reporting team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence across assigned systems.

SKILLS 🤹:

  • 2+ years of experience as a System Lead or in a similar IT operations/support role.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, including databases, servers, cloud platforms, and networking.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management and ITIL principles; ITIL v3/v4 Fundamentals certification.
  • Working knowledge of AWS services such as Glue, PySpark, Lambda, S3, SNS, Step Functions, and Airflow.
  • Knowledge of data transformation and modelling using Snowflake and dbt.
  • Advanced Python and SQL skills.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, particularly AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, and AWS CodeBuild.
  • Familiarity with data integration tools such as SnapLogic.
  • Experience with Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Customer-oriented approach and ability to work effectively within international teams.
  • Excellent English, both written and spoken.

NICE TO HAVE Service Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting systems in a regulated environment.
  • Broader IT technical support experience covering hardware, software, networking, and databases.
  • Experience coordinating system migrations, transitions, or decommissioning activities.
  • Familiarity with multicultural and globally distributed organizations.
  • Additional languages such as German, Japanese, Mandarin, or Spanish.
  • ITIL certification beyond Fundamentals.

SCHEDULE 🕘:

  • 08h-17h from Monday to Friday (flexible)
  • 4 days by remote, 1 day office work (every thursday)
