1. Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing inventory items, ensuring accurate stock levels are recorded in the inventory management system.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy and to identify discrepancies or shortages.

2. Receiving and Inspection:

  • Oversee the receiving of materials, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring they are correctly documented, inspected for quality, and stored appropriately.
  • Verify that received items match the purchase orders in terms of quantity and specifications.

3. Storage and Organization:

  • Organize the storage area to optimize space utilization, ensuring that materials are easily accessible and safely stored.
  • Implement a systematic inventory labeling and categorization system to facilitate efficient retrieval of items.

4. Order Processing:

  • Prepare requisitions for items needed based on inventory levels and operational demands, collaborating with the Supply Chain Officer for approval.
  • Process and monitor purchase orders for spare parts and materials, ensuring timely delivery to support maintenance and operational needs.

5. Stock Control:

  • Monitor stock levels regularly and recommend reordering of items to avoid shortages that could disrupt operations.
  • Manage surplus and obsolete inventory, coordinating with relevant departments to find solutions for excess stock.

6. Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory movements, receipts, and shipments in the inventory management system.
  • Prepare reports on inventory levels, stock valuations, and transaction histories for review by the Supply Chain Officer.

7. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and organizational policies regarding material handling, storage, and waste management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

8. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with maintenance, operations, and procurement teams to ensure alignment between inventory management and operational needs.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to address any issues regarding deliveries, quality, or specifications.

9. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for improving inventory management processes and warehouse operations, making recommendations to the Supply Chain Officer.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills related to inventory management and storekeeping best practices.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a diploma or degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of [5] years of experience in storekeeping or inventory management, preferably in an industrial or power generation environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using inventory management software and MS Office applications. Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures is essential.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory records.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy items safely, and to perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
