SECTION I: Job Summary

The QC Inspector – Piping performs inspection and testing of piping fabrication and installation activities to verify compliance with isometrics, welding procedures, and applicable codes and standards.

SECTION II: Job Analysis

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections on piping fabrication and installation works.
  • Witness hydrotests, NDE activities (RT/UT/PT/MT), and other required tests per the ITP.
  • Verify pipe fit-up, alignment, and welding against approved isometrics and WPS.
  • Verify materials, spools, and fittings against material certificates and specifications.
  • Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
  • Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors.
  • Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
  • Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
  • Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for piping works.
  • Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and piping codes (ASME B31.3).
  • Support preparation of quality documentation for piping handover dossiers.

SECTION V: Required Experience and Education

Experience • 5–8 years of experience as a QC Inspector on piping construction/fabrication projects.

Education • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • QC/inspection certification (e.g., CSWIP, CWI) preferred.

SECTION VI: LEVEL OF AUTHORITY

Supervisory / Managerial: No supervisory responsibility.

Financial: No financial or budget authority.

SECTION VII: MISCELLANEOUS JOB-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

General Profile / Specifications: • Field-based role requiring daily presence on active piping work fronts

  • Exposure to site/construction conditions
  • May require shift work or extended hours to cover inspection hold points
